UpBeat Music and Arts Summer Camp Teaching Associate

Company Name:
UpBeat Music and Arts
Overview
UpBeat helps children achieve confidence, build self-esteem and feel connected to the larger arts community. Boys and girls ages 7-17 will enjoy both group and individual piano/guitar instruction and learn about music performance, technique, ear training, theory, reading music, writing music, and more.
UpBeat's goal is to bring children a source of education, encouragement, discipline, and a sense of community through music. Our team of teaching musicians, accomplished players themselves, lead this program with a energetic, creative, and accessible approach to learning piano and guitar. Scholarships are often provided to students who may not have the resources to attend UpBeat Camp otherwise.
How interns will be trained, supervised, and what the intern can expect to learn
UpBeat will train interns through on-site training and observation. Interns will participate in an initial day of training, be given feedback on a daily-weekly basis, and be supervised by Scott Barbeau, Director and Co-founder of UpBeat. Interns will gain valuable experience teaching music and piano in small group and individual settings, learn how to develop materials and curriculum for various levels of students, interact with children and parents of diverse backgrounds, and understand more about operating a music program and small business.
