We are currently recruiting for an Accounting Manager for our client, an established law firm in the Loop. The Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas relating to accounting functions and financial reporting. This position must meet firm deadlines and be self-motivated, able to prioritize multiple tasks and carry a challenging workload.
E-billing is a must!
Responsibilities:
Ensure timely and accurate processing of all A/P, A/R and payroll transactions.
Manage all elements of the month-end close cycle, ensuring that work is properly assigned and completed in a timely and accurate manner.
Assist staff to create efficient and productive systems to provide the organization with timely and accurate financial information and excellent internal customer service.
Prepare monthly financial reports for presentation to the Finance Committee and Board of Directors.
Direct the maintenance of the chart of accounts and general ledger.
Ensure timely preparation and approval of annual organizational budget.
Minimum
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or Business Management with an emphasis in Accounting required.
2. Legal experience is a must.
3. Ability to work with minimal supervision, attention to detail, and a strong ability in math.
4. Sound judgment and the ability to conduct him/herself in a professional manner.
5. Excellent written/verbal communication and problem solving skills.
6. Excellent computer skills, particularly with all software in Microsoft Office, including Word, Access, and Outlook and advanced skills in Excel including linking, pivot tables, macros, lookup functions and developing complex spreadsheets.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
