Absolute must have's - 5
years of data management experience working with large structured and unstructured data sets. Experience working with a variety of data streams including, but not limited to, business intelligence data, transaction data, survey data and social media data. Expert skills in the data manipulation of hundreds of millions of records using SAS Base, SQL, SAS Connect and SAS macros (Certified Advanced Programmer desired). This position will have no direct reports but will play a critical role in the mentorship of the analytic staff.
Role interacts primarily with internal clients to develop and create SAS analytic files, generate statistical output, formulate program approaches and consult with client or team members to clarify requirements. They will write, test, implement and refine SAS code, prepare codebooks and documentation as well as perform quality control and assurance activities including benchmarking results. Along with these technical skills, the ideal candidate will possess a fundamental understanding of what the data means in the context of the business and research questions at hand.
Responsibilities:
- This role will be instrumental in the development and architecture of data infrastructure, organizing historical and current data, laying the foundation for future work.
- Work with ever-changing large data files in an MS Windows environment, from a variety of sources, including survey data, transaction and social media data
- Ensures all vendor updates are properly installed and rolled out
- Performs and documents procedures for data preparation including data loading, data cleaning, standardization and analysis. Develop ad-hoc reports as necessary.
- Manages integration of various data sources, including primary survey data, pos/transactional data, social media data and video data among others
- Manages contracts and maintains relationships with data and software providers
- Ensures all vendor updates are properly installed and rolled out
- Performs and documents procedures for data preparation including data loading, data cleaning, standardization and analysis
- Troubleshoots data errors and issues, ensuring quality data collection
- Consults with analysts on data collection and coding problems and assists in developing means to correct the problems
- Possesses ability to craft data and analytics strategies that meet business and technical needs in order to influence stake holders
- Develops and maintains a public access or limited access data portal
- Creates and maintains SAS syntax library of relevant programs and analyses that are frequently used by the analytic staff. Develops training materials for analysts new to SAS platform
Qualifications:
See must have's
Degree in the Social Sciences, MIS, Statistics or other quant program; advanced degree a plus
Highly logical with excellent problem-solving skills
Self-motivated with a strong ability to meet deadlines in a collaborative
Background Ck and drug screening conducted
