Our agency client is seeking a Managing Editor to join their full-time team. This agency is in the business of emotional human story telling through a myriad of media channels. They need a true Managing Editor to partner with their clients to drive the story content and overall flow to ensure reader engagement.
The bulk of the job will be to perform true down and dirty copyediting and proofreading as well as write copy in the form of social posts (Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn) and/or blogs on a weekly basis. The Managing Editor will also be tasked with QA responsibilities.
The Managing Editor will perform planning, content management/development/promotion, analytics.
Must have Social Media expertise.
To be considered for this opportunity please:
- Be able to develop community guidelines/standards for clients and for the development of content, approve content calendars and conducts/delegates any research needed to the editorial team and source/choose copywriters
- Have developed editorial processes in the past for streamlining content creation, reviews and production/publishing with QA standards/processes throughout
- Have previous experience managing a pool of writers and be able to give direction and provide inspiration (this role will also oversee the social media team)
- Be knowledgeable of how to promote content effectively; identifying appropriate sites and community members to network with to establish champions inside and outside of the community that will ensure the most readers of each human interest story - in addition please be able to fully understand how to measure the data for community engagement by client and present effectively both internally and externally
- Be an expert in social media trends and be able to make solid recommendations for best practices with the most popular as well as the hottest new social media platforms (also stay up to the minute on capabilities/usage changes in all platforms)
- Have excellent project management skills and a proven track record of delivering outstanding work on-time and on-budgetEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
