We are seeking a Structural Design Supervisor to perform the following:
Execute the assigned projects by providing technical expertise in Civil/Structural and Architectural disciplines
Supervising the efforts of a design team which currently consist entirely of outside consultants located in and outside of our office
Supervisionand review includes overseeing compliance of deliverables with value engineered design standards in meeting project objectives
Must be able to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with customers, suppliers and colleagues
Accountabilities:
Provide a high level of technical expertise and advice on assigned design projects and share with other members of the department, experience learned from other projects
Develop discipline deliverables such as Scope of Work, Preliminary Design and Material Take-off for various grades of estimate preparations taking into account insurance and code requirements. Position also requires developing and evaluating construction documents including bid packages, vendor and shop drawings
Coordinate and manage the discipline's design work with other disciplines, project leaders and plant engineering so as to minimize changes that negatively impact cost and schedule.
Assist management teams in interviewing and evaluating third party engineering firms and outside consultant's performance. Orientate and familiarize third part firms in work processes
Assess discipline resource loading on a regular basis to cost effectively accomplish project and department goals
Provide technical assistance to the construction teams as well as operating plants for resolving structural issues in a timely fashion; i.e. review of rigging and hoisting schemes at short notice in accordance with Rigging Mode Program
Qualifications - External
Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited four year engineering program; Masters in Structural Engineering and or Business Administration preferred
Professional Engineering SE registration required in Illinois (preferably in multiple states of which has facilities); and must be willing and eligible to expand licensing reciprocity for other States
Must have 10 - 15 years experience in Civil/Structural Design in the Industrial field; and a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience
Extensive and diversified knowledge of relevant Codes, Standards, Engineering Principles and Practices required to produce safe, efficient, reliable, easy to operate and maintain, cost effective designs in structural engineering
Working experience in AutoCAD and RISA FEA structural analysis and design or similar software; as well as strong PC skills in Microsoft Office Applications including MSProject, Word, Excel and Outlook
Excellent verbal, written and decision making skills within the tasks of executing assignments for Corporation
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with cross functional internal groups, outside vendors, contractors, and actively participate in cross functional teams to successfully complete all objectives
Willingness to travel up to 15% to ensure adequate support of projects and in assisting existing operations as it applies to discipline assessment and problem resolutionEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
