Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Job Responsibilities Identify specific technologies and provide roadmaps for the design and development of new products and modification and improvement of existing products by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Develop and design new products and modify and improve existing products within budget requirements and above performance expectations
Evaluate and recommend new technologies
Select materials and in conjunction with manufacturing, select methods to be used in the assembly process.
Provide complete working drawings when project is released from Engineering to Production
Participate in the testing and evaluation of designs and provide product specifications or test data, as required
Analyze test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications
Recommend new products and/or modifications and improvements to existing products
Interface with customers as necessary to clarify design objectives on projects and communicate updates to Sales Department
Provide technical support to internal and external customers

Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering
Proficient in Pro Engineering, 2,000
hours experience with Wildfire 4.0 or later
3 years' experience minimum with full life cycle in product design
Preferred Job Skills/Experiences
Product Design Experience meeting the following military quality standards MIL-STD-810 (environmental), MIL-STD-461 (EMI), and MIL-STD-3009 (NVIS lighting requirements)
ProE Mechanica, 250
hours experience
ProE Direct Surfacing, 250
hours experience
Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP) design methodology experience
Production Part Approval Process experience
Plastic, machined/die cast aluminum, sheet metal and/or silicone rubber keypad design experience
LCD/Touchscreen, PCB, Electronics integration experience
Geo-Tolerancing/Stack-Up Tolerance Analysis experience
6 Sigma Design Methodologies
8D Failure Analysis Techniques
Project Management Experience/Training
