Job Summary/ResponsibilitiesAs a Director of Human Resources, you will work as part of the Corporate HR team and report to the CHRO with a dotted line to the Functional Senior Vice Presidents (Recycling, Finance, and Chief Performance Officer).
In this role you will build and support the people capabilities in the matrix organization and Recycling business unit.
Collaborate directly with their respective executives to lead Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, and goal attainment.
This role will also guide and oversee the company's HR compliance programs, is part of the HR leadership team and lead various corporate HR initiatives.
Ideally this role will be based in Chicago, IL Act as a business partner to the Recycling BU, CFO and CPO and their staff ( 1000 employees) Provide advice, counsel, and coaching on relevant business and human capital issues around strategy, structure, people, process, and rewards Lead the development of strategic HR initiatives related to people development, talent management, staffing, retention, diversity, organizational development and performance management in both union and non-union environments Coach and counsel client group, guiding managers and employees through all HR processes (performance management, development planning, employee and labor relations, development planning, compensation planning, goal setting) with the goal of building management competencies within the HR and functional leadership teams Coordinate with Talent Acquisition team efforts in leading the business through the recruitment process of salaried and hourly hiring to meet BU and corporate objectives Assist with workforce planning and succession planning at functional level Ensure the HR function's priorities and efforts are customer centric and aligned to the execution of the operational strategy Develop and implement cultural change initiatives to create a collaborative work environment consistent with EVRAZ NA Principles Provide subject matter expertise and counsel leaders on change management (i.
e.
identify stakeholders, gaps, potential barriers, communication plans and measurement strategy) Provide leadership with HR metrics including turn-over analysis, cost per hire and ROI of programs being managed Participate as needed in the collective bargaining process for Recycling in collaboration with Director of Labor Relations and guide local HR team as needed Develop a strong HR team to meet the company's growth strategies and employee relations objectives Ensure compliance with group and corporate policies.
This includes identifying, updating, and implementing new policies.
Participating in the policy committee meetings and managing the annual policy acknowledgements and company trainings program Oversee the company immigration, AAP, EEO-1, and VETS 100 reporting and compliance.
Oversee the tuition reimbursement, relocation and pre-employment programs and vendor management Develop and monitor HR budget for HQ Ensure compliance with Environmental, Safety, Health and other group and corporate policies, procedures, and requirements and ensure compliance of all Quality Assurance practices Skills/Experience Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business or related field required Master's Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field preferred 15
years of progressive professional human resources experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role Manufacturing experience required and a unionized background an asset Experience in successfully operating within a shared services and matrix environment Strong awareness and experience managing various HR compliance programs and policies Broad knowledge of HR practices including compensation, performance management, leadership development, employee relations, change management and organizational development Experienced in complex employee relations issues, investigations and provide pragmatic solutions Ability to motivate staff and effectively accomplish tasks through others; ability to foster a collaborative work environment and develop a strong agile team Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community; effective conflict resolution and/or mediation skills Willingness to learn the business, what HR levers to pull and being open to walk the floor Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products and the ability to learn various in-house computer software as needed Experience with Workday and Kronos Workforce an asset Our total compensation package includes amazing benefits! The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
