Dad's Father's Club is a nonprofit dedicated to empowering fathers and positive male mentors to actively engage in their children's lives, fostering a strong foundation of mentorship and literacy.
The organization provides mentorship, tutoring, parent workshops, life skills training, and meaningful community events that promote male participation in the lives of their children.
Mr.
Dad's Father's Club brings Southside dads into Chicago Public Schools to read books to the students.
Over 150 fathers volunteer for events and more than 25 do readings every week in 12 Chicago public schools.
The Club also has mentoring programs for middle and high school students.
Fathers also receive support and mentorship on how to be better dads to their kids.
Mr.
Dad's Father's Club hopes to normalize having fathers, especially African-American dads, help at their kids' Southside schools.
This would help to shift school culture and ensure more effective education for tens of thousands of kids in Chicago Public Schools.
Job Description:
The Social Media and Marketing Assistant is responsible for communicating news about the organization's activities to audiences in social media, traditional media, and directly to the community.
Responsibilities:
Social Media Develop and maintain a social media calendar with goals and stories for each week.
Design and post content for the organization's Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok YouTube and LinkedIn feeds.
Capture video and photo assets at organizational programs and events Monitor social media channels for inquiries, comments, and feedback Track and analyze social media metrics to measure the success of campaigns Traditional Media Produce press releases related to the organization's programs Pitch media stories Organize visits by reporters to the organization's program sites Community Outreach and Communications Develop an organizational newsletter Create flyers and other recruitment documents for dads and schools to enter the program Help produce public reports of the organization's work, including an annual report Other Maintain the organization's website, adding current content as appropriate Develop brochures and other printed materials to market the organization Requirements:
2 years experience in organizational communications Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Basic graphic design skills, and the ability to use design software (Canva or similar) Command of social media platforms and strategies Ability to work collaboratively with other staff to communicate a collective vision Prior work with education programs, especially in Chicago Public Schools a plus.
Familiarity with south side Chicago communities a plus.
This is a 5-month contract Feb-June 2024 for a total of $22,500-$24,000.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
