Summary:
As a Yield Management Intern, you will play a crucial role in optimizing freight pricing strategies and capacity planning to ensure maximum profitability and efficiency.
This position offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in yield management within the fast-paced freight brokerage industry, working closely with the VP of Yield Management and other team members.
Essential Functions:
Responsibilities:
Assist in analyzing freight rates, market trends, and carrier performance to understand pricing strategies.
Support the development and implementation of tools and processes for yield optimization.
Participate in the preparation of reports and dashboards to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to yield management.
Contribute to carrier capacity efforts by analyzing demand forecasts and supply and seasonality.
Collaborate with sales and operations teams to ensure alignment of yield management strategies with broader business objectives.
Engage in special projects and initiatives aimed at improving yield management practices.
Performs Additional Responsibilities As Assigned
Qualifications:
Education and/or
Experience:
Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or a related field.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to analyze large datasets.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with data analysis tools.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Demonstrated interest in the logistics, transportation, or freight brokerage industry.
