com What You'll Be DoingYou will be a critical player in the delivery of CIBC's Accessibility strategy for the US.
The Senior Consultant, US Accessibility, will join the Enterprise Client Experience team focused on continually improving the client and employee experience for those who have historically faced barriers to employment and banking.
Informed by the legislative landscape, you will oversee and make recommendations for US accessibility initiatives, primarily related to the Americans with Disability Act and state and municipal laws as appropriate.
You will set accessibility standards for CIBC US, and ensure oversight mechanisms are in place to address the evolving regulatory landscape as it pertains to accessibility.
The Senior Consultant, US Accessibility will develop, maintain, communicate and enforce CIBC's US Accessibility Policies and establish controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
You will work closely with stakeholders in Client Experience, Client Strategy, Technology and Operations, Digital Banking, Front line effectiveness, Facilities, Human Resources, Inclusion, Product, and Enterprise Wide Compliance to advise on programs and action plans to support a positive experience for our clients with disabilities.
The successful candidate is a subject matter expert of federal, state and municipal accessibility laws (as appropriate) and passionate about the client experience and inclusive design to help accelerate CIBC's implementation of our enterprise accessibility strategy in partnership with internal and external delivery partners.
This role is an individual contributor, reporting a Senior Director, Client Experience in the enterprise Client Experience team.
How You'll Succeed Advisory:
Act as the US authority on Accessibility laws and promote adherence to accessibility policies, consulting with business units to ensure policy requirements are embedded into processes, procedures and initiatives.
Regulatory oversight:
Identify applicable regulatory requirements as this role will be responsible for all levels of accessibility legislation (federal, state and municipal), monitor changes and compliance with the requirements, and communicate proposed, new and amended regulatory requirements to impacted business units and Compliance.
Advocate, Influence and Consult:
Work with CIBC's Accessibility team to advocate for Accessibility across CIBC US.
Partner with teams to provide guidance on products, services, solutions and physical spaces to improve the employee and client experience for persons with disabilities in the US region.
You will support the Client Care Team to respond to escalations related to barriers to access.
Experience in complex escalation management is an asset.
Relationship management:
Work with impacted business units to identify key and non-key controls, policies and procedures to mitigate regulatory compliance risk.
Once policies and procedures are established, you will collaborate with diverse stakeholders across the bank to implement inclusive and accessible experiences.
You will partner with CIBC's Accessibility Action Committee and Inclusive Design Teams to develop new tactics aimed at creating better experiences for CIBC clients and employees across disability spectrum.
Knowledge -You have familiarity with the disability spectrum, assistive technologies, and inclusive design principles.
You demonstrate experience and detailed knowledge of accessibility guidelines and standards.
You are familiar with the legislative landscape for Accessibility regulations in the US.
Knowledge of CIBC Compliance Oversight requirements is an asset.
