Deputy Director of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion -
The Office of Illinois Governor, JB Pritzker is seeking a Deputy Director of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion to join the Office of Equity located in Chicago, IL.
The role involves overseeing the daily operations of the Office of Equity. The individual will coordinate, implement, and advocate for the office's strategic initiatives with state agencies, boards, and commissions. They will advance equity within Illinois state government by providing technical assistance, tools, and resources. The Deputy Director of DEI will report to the Chief Equity Officer and oversee interns.
The ideal candidate will:
Possess 3-5 years implementing laws, programs, policies, and procedures to advance diversity, equity inclusion and accessibility in organizations
Possess 3-5 years of experience with developing strategic plans and accountability systems that aim to advance diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility in the workplace
Have prior experience in providing diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility professional development opportunities or requirements for direct reports
Have proven examples of serving on a committee or board that helps implement diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility within an organization
Have proven examples of adding operational efficiencies in past roles
Is a highly organized individual and is able to manage several large-scale projects at a time
Essential Job Functions
Statewide Training and Education (25%): Direct the DEIA training and education portfolio for the Office of Equity, overseeing the development, pilot, launch, and administration of three statewide trainings for 70,000
employees and appointees.
Strategic Planning and Partnerships (25%): Serve as a trusted advisor for agencies in the Governor's Cabinet on DEIA strategic planning, implementation, and assessment; conduct evaluation and analysis of strategic plans and reports submitted to the Office of Equity.
Office and Staff Management (20%): Manage internal operations and external communications; develop future public service leaders through overseeing fellow and intern programs.
DEIA Consultation with Statewide and National Impact (15%): Serve as a DEIA thought leader for the Governor's Office on statewide task forces and national networks to align social change efforts.
Agency Programming and Capacity Building (15%): Oversee design and implementation of Office of Equity programming to convene and build capacity for DEIA leads and executive leaders.
Occasional nights and weekends will be required.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
