Monday - Friday. With voluntary weekend hours for as much OT as wanted.
We are currently seeking a dynamic, self-motivated and experienced Permanent Maintenance Mechanic to join our highly skilled Engineering team. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of our high-speed conveyor systems, production machinery and fillers. Responsibilities
As a Permanent Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for:
1. Performing routine and preventive maintenance on conveyor systems, production machinery, and fillers to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
2. Troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical issues swiftly and accurately, using your keen understanding of mechanical systems and components such as bearings, sprockets, and gears.
3. Repairing or replacing malfunctioning equipment parts, following lockout-tagout (LOTO) procedures to ensure safety.
4. Adhering to all industrial safety standards and regulations, and actively contributing to the maintenance of a safe and healthy work environment.
5. Collaborating closely with the engineering team and other relevant departments to identify potential mechanical issues, propose solutions, and implement improvements.
6. Keeping detailed records of all maintenance work performed, including any parts replaced and the nature of any repairs or adjustments made.
7. Continually updating your knowledge of our machinery, equipment, and systems, as well as relevant safety standards and regulations.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Maintenance Mechanic role will have:
1. A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role, preferably within the engineering or manufacturing industry.
2. Proven experience in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
3. A strong mechanical aptitude, with hands-on experience working with bearings, sprockets, and gears.
4. Proficiency in preventive maintenance and machine repair.
5. A solid understanding of industrial safety standards and regulations, with specific knowledge of LOTO procedures.
6. Experience in the food manufacturing industry would be a significant plus.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and fix mechanical issues quickly and accurately.
8. Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
9. A high level of physical fitness and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting heavy equipment parts.
10. A commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
