Description The Water Wastewater Engineer will provide support for civil and environmental engineering projects including wastewater collection system infrastructure evaluation, rehabilitation, and design; and water distribution system design.Position responsibilities will include technical report writing; pipeline routing alternatives design and analysis; field investigations/site reconnaissance; project permitting with City of Austin and coordination with regulatory agencies; data collection; utility coordination; erosion/sedimentation control and tree protection plans; engineering cost estimating and analysis; wastewater flow development and hydraulics analysis; engineering design calculations; engineering specification review and preparation of contract documents for construction; bid and award services; and construction phase engineering services.Prepare project scopes of work and budget estimates; coordinate with team surveying, geotechnical, structural engineering, and electrical engineering subconsultants; coordinate with internal QA/QC reviewers, financial analysts, and administrative assistants.Need minimum three years of experience working with Austin Water and City of Austin projects. This position will require an estimated local travel/field work for site inspections and meetings with client site representative and construction contractors.
Qualifications:
B.S. or M.S. degree in Engineering with a minimum of 7 years of experience, 10 preferred. Texas-Licensed P.E. certification is required. Excellent writing/verbal communication skills for interaction with multi-disciplinary staff, clients and regulatory agencies. Excellent organization and design planning skills. Self-starter, detailed oriented, and finisher. Proficient using typical business software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Adobe, etc.). AutoCAD/GIS operating knowledge is preferred.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
