As a Structural Engineer on our transportation team, you will be a part of Stantec's dynamic team of over 500 bridge engineers who are responsible for expanding our bridge engineering and working on a wide variety of innovative and diverse projects. This position includes performing a variety of tasks which may include development of construction plans and specifications, calculations, quality reviews, proposal and technical writing and project management, and can be in any of our offices in Minnesota, Illinois, North Dakota, Wisconsin, Iowa, or Kansas. Your Key Responsibilities Design of bridges, walls, culverts, and sign structures incorporating DOT practices and AASHTO LRFD standards Conducting engineering investigations, feasibility studies, cost, and risk analysis Bridge load ratings Use of advanced structural analysis/design software and 3D models Completing bridge construction plans and specifications Preparing structural computations, material quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates and helping in checking the work of others Client service, development, management, and growth Opportunity identification and pursuits Mentor and empower other team members Perform other duties of similar nature and level as assigned Qualifications Your Capabilities and Credentials Proven leadership skills that include leading, guiding and directing successful team outcomes You should have experience and knowledge of the design, analysis, inspection, and maintenance of highway and/or railroad bridges You will have working knowledge and familiarity with DOT design standards and related structural design software for bridges and miscellaneous structures You should have experience with finite-element analysis (FEA) and an understanding of how FEA can be applied to complex structural engineering problems Naturally, you'll need excellent organization, project management and communication skills both written and verbal along with excellent interpersonal abilities and willingness to work in a team and help lead proposal efforts You will have the skill and knowledge to create, suggest, and introduce innovative and effective client solutions Education and Experience Master's degree in Civil Engineering with Structural emphasis Minimum of eight (8) years of professional experience in the design of bridges and structures Professional Engineer (P.E.).
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Civil EngineeringEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
