Project Manager of Developmental Education Initiatives

City Colleges of Chicago (CCC), the largest community college system in Illinois, is made up of seven colleges and five satellite sites, providing more than 70,000 students each year access to a quality, affordable education. Developmental education reform is critical to the success of CCC's equity initiative and is at the center of CCC's commitment to continuous improvement. The Development Education Planning Committee, comprised primarily of English and Math faculty, was formed to work on solutions to improve developmental education outcomes. Recommendations from the committee are presently informing change in developmental education at CCC, including the creation of the Developmental Educational Council charged with measuring progress and overseeing the annual cycle of continuous improvement in developmental education. The Project Manager - Developmental Education is a full-time, grant funded position for one year, with the possibility of renewal. Reporting to the Provost, the Project Manager- Developmental Education is responsible for providing project management and evaluation to effectively implement math specific recommendations stemming from the Development Education Planning Committee, with a focus on developing and delivering courses and support services to build and improve students' early momentum into and through developmental coursework, and passing college level math in their first year. The Project Manager- Developmental Education will convene faculty, develop project plans, monitor deliverables, and ensure progress toward full implementation of math specific recommendations intended to improve math outcomes which touch on in the areas of placement and advising, innovative delivery, student supports, and continuous improvement and governance. Performs related duties as required. Your Responsibilities Creates work plans and collaborates with faculty across colleges to develop, align and implement strategies and curriculum to successfully meet the goals to increase the percentage of students taking and passing college-level math in their first year while also striving to eliminate equity gaps. Leads and works with math work teams/faculty to develop and implement plans to:
Expand and deliver the Level Up Program across colleges, allowing students to participate in targeted guided sessions that focus on mathematical confidence; Deliver math warm-up workshops to encourage students to begin their math sequences early in their program of study; Deliver math pre-skill refresher courses in advance of mini-term courses to boost student confidence and growth mindset; Create greater clarity and transparency in navigating math pathways; Develop a district-wide student learning outcomes assessment plan for developmental-level math to help assess programmatic strengths, inconsistencies, and weaknesses impacting student outcomes; and Establish college teams of math faculty and administrators committed to developing and executing plans for math course redesign. Collaborates with faculty and key stakeholders district-wide to align course sequencing for developmental math, inclusive of co-requisite offerings. Develops district-wide plan to improve transparency of STEM and non-STEM course offerings, and ensure cross-walks that allow students to complete their math sequence at any CCC campus. Provides reliable, detail-oriented project management expertise to ensure that identified recommendations are implemented and that all necessary stakeholders are included in the process. Tracks progress against milestones and prepares grant reports. Effectively communicates project expectations and updates to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. Develops scope for external evaluation and works with the CCC procurement office to manage the Request for Proposal process. Performs other duties as required. Your Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university Five years of work experience in project or program management, preferably in higher education, a nonprofit organization or the public sector Demonstrated knowledge and experience implementing projects in a complex organization Excellent project planning and management skills Strong communication skills Ability to work within a culturally diverse environment Ability to cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders Ability to work some evenings and weekends Ability to travel in and out of district Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SharePoint
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Business Project ManagementEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
