Claims Specialist - Liability

Role Purpose:
Proactively investigate, evaluate and negotiate resolution of assigned claims with potential small pending of Liability claims, in accordance with established best practices and assure claims are handled within granted autonomy limits. Develop and maintain relationships with brokers and clients as well as internal business partners. Provide efficient claims handling within team while working with third-party service providers in achieving economical results and to provide high quality service to all internal and external relationships.Key
Responsibilities:
Investigation and Reserving of Claims:
Investigate potentially Liability claims that involve complex liability issues on domestic and multinational claims Evaluate and address coverage issues and determine appropriate reserving levels Select and direct independent external service providers (e.g. Lawyers, Independent Adjusters, Experts) Settlement:
Negotiate and resolve noncomplex claims ensuring cost effective, service orientated solutions Ensure claims are settled in accordance with settlement guidelines Referrals and Compliance:
Ensure all claims handled within authority limits, and in line with AGCS Claims complex procedures and guidelines Refer cases outside of authority level, preparing referral documentation and materials as appropriate Support establishment of claims management procedures on new business accounts in association with clients, brokers and loss adjusters Market Management:
Proactively support acquisition of new business and retention of existing business Proactively liaise with underwriters on market management initiatives Attend industry functions Relationship Management:
Positively represent AGCS externally to the market and develop and maintain relationships with brokers and clients, as well as other relevant stakeholders (e.g. third party adjusters) Proactively drive involvement of functional areas in Claims handling process, e.g. Underwriting, Operations Effectively report and present complex and contentious loss and claims information internally and externally Claims Processing & Administration:
Input and maintain accurate claims records for designated accounts, within appropriate AGCS Claims administration systems Manage timely production of management information reports (e.g. monthly major claims movements) and proactively identify loss trends Required Skills:
College Degree 5-7 years or more of experience and a proven track record in handling Liability claims involving complex coverage and damage issues Detailed understanding of claims handling process Demonstrated established relationships with brokers at peer level group and well established in local market In-depth understanding of regional/local LoB insurance markets and competitor landscape Multi-lingual is a plus Detailed understanding of claims products, wordings, terms and conditions and coverages Solid knowledge of claim handling process from notification to settlement and recovery, and ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
