Summary:
The Market Access Director will manage Caterpillar Remanufacturing market access for the complete product portfolio, ensuring we meet customer needs for high quality, value-priced, readily available remanufactured exchange components for both Caterpillar and our external OEM partners while also achieving our goals for growth and profitability.
YOUR TEAM:
You will lead a team of 3 direct reports.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
This role will pursue an ongoing understanding of the evolving Reman business to develop specific market access strategies both to penetrate closed markets and define growth strategies for existing markets, as well as advise on activities related to Cat Reman acquisition projects (public/private acquisitions, mergers, and joint ventures).
In doing so, this role will partner closely with the Reman leadership team, line organizations, Cat Legal, and Global Government Affairs groups.

Represent Caterpillar as the Reman subject matter expert on a variety of issues and communications before branches of government in various states and countries, as well as internal Caterpillar government affairs groups and partnering divisions.

This role will also manage three regional Market Access Consultants to assist in liaising with local governments and generating country-specific solutions to enable Reman product sales.

Lead efforts to generate, qualify, and prioritize potential market access strategies.
Review and recommend action plans on significant project requirements, financials, and performance issues to assess risk and ensure quality performance standards; acts as an advisor regarding market trends affecting current and potential product offerings.
Align across commercial, product, and operational business needs.

Develop and leverage meaningful business relationships with key decision makers, industry influencers and collaborative business partners across the industry -- primarily at the senior executive level.

Serve as the primary liaison for various Remanufacturing industry institutions, trade associations, technical bodies, and schools, i.
e.
REMADE Institute Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and the Remanufacturing Industries Council (RIC); responsible for hosting events / facilitating discussions between these institutions and various businesses that incorporate Remanufacturing into their lines of operation.
Leverage these relationships to gather information on competitive issues, market dynamics, market service needs, and Caterpillars position in the industry.

Be responsive to the increase in complexity for issues managed by this position resulting from the continual changes to law and lobbying efforts to prioritize domestic markets over imports.
BASIC
Qualifications:

Bachelors degree from an accredited school
10
years experience in areas related to government legislation, customs, global trade
Experienced leader in leading change and setting strategic visions for the business initiatives.

Strong organizational and business acumen skills; ability to select, train and motivate a regional team, superior communication skills; ability to manage all aspects of a complex business.

Ability to operate in a highly matrixed enterprise and operate through influence.

Demonstrated high values and integrity is essential.
TOP CANDIDATES WILL ALSO HAVE:

Advanced degree in related field
Prior experience working with legislative officials
Strong understanding of our Remanufacturing brand or knowledge of our machines/engines, drivetrain, electrification, and aftermarket services The location for this role could be Dallas, TX, Washington D.
C.
, or Peoria/Chicago area.
Relocation assistance may be provided, if eligible.
This position travels extensively (50% of the time).
