Principal Engineer

Description Technical Operations/Maintenance Technical Operations includes the maintenance and overhaul of our aircraft.
This includes aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities teams, supply chain teams and more.
Job overview and responsibilities Studies, analyzes, and seeks solutions to problems related to the design, operation, maintenance, performance, modification, or repair of aircraft or engines, and their components Uses a structured, logical, and analytical approach in problem solving Defines maintenance program, configuration, and serviceability criteria ensuring safe and legal operations Analyzes and implements regulatory requirements Evaluates the effects of modifications or new equipment on reliability and performance Evaluates the benefits of the cost impact of a fleet decision to ensure an optimum balance of cost, asset utilization, quality, and reliability Authors, designs, tests, and manages projects Provides on-site technical support for line and base operations Communicates with customers on technical issues, work scope recommendations, and failure investigations Interfaces with internal and external organizations regarding specific aircraft, powerplant, and component issues This position develops complex solutions and implementation plans, project justification, cost/benefit analysis and overall project management including follow-up on to ensure project pilot and overall completion Organize and manage the priorities for assigned responsibilities and accomplish the work process to meet all deliverable for projects both on line and base aircraft as well as maintenance program changes and technical specification revisions Coordinate work with other operational groups to ensure airworthiness, safety, regulatory compliance, operational reliability and operational efficiency Considered subject matter expert in their area and could represent United at industry meetings Provide technical assistance in reviewing Engineering paperwork from peers within engineering as needed by department to act as a technical check point Provide mentorship and technical advice to less experienced colleagues in engineering as needed by the department; foster knowledge training and development of peers Qualifications Q ualifications - External Required
B.
S Degree in Engineering, related technical field or equivalent experience
5 years or more of engineering experience at a senior engineer Prior work experience in one or more of the following aircraft systems:
Aircraft Communication, Navigation, Autoflight, Indication, Network and Information systems (ATA 22, 23, 31, 34, 42, 45, 46)
Engineering skill sets which can be applied to a range of aircraft systems, maintenance programs and engines
Ability to analyze complex technical issues, detailed level of project management for regulatory compliance modifications
Excellent verbal and technical writing skills needed
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
Travel expected:

S.
degree in Electrical, Computer, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering preferred Knowledge of FARS (especially 145, 25, and 121) Ability to specify, install, and sustain specific avionics equipage for functionality, reliability and life cycle management.
Strong skills in MS office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
