POSITION
Summary:
The Conflicts Attorney-Ethical Screens will support the Firm's programs including new business and conflicts intake, lateral hiring and general regulatory risk management.
The Conflicts Attorney-Ethical Screens will be responsible for building and implementing electronic screens/walls in the Firm's Intapp Walls system, the drafting and circulation of screening memoranda, and communicating with Firm attorneys and staff professionals about these matters.
The Conflicts Attorney-Ethical Screens will serve as an important resource to the Firm and other Conflicts Department staff on the use of ethical screens.
The Conflicts Attorney-Ethical Screens will work closely with Conflicts Analysts, Conflict Attorneys, Conflicts Counsel and Assistant General Counsel and will have the opportunity to understand broader conflicts, new business intake, and lateral hiring processes.
This role can reside in the Firm's Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles or New York office.
DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Implementing ethical screens pursuant to ethical rules and waivers, at the request of Firm clients, or as directed by the Firm's Office of General CounselBuilding and maintaining electronic walls in the Firm's Intapp Walls systemLiaising with relevant departments to implement and maintain ethical screen requirements, such as IT, Accounting and RecordsDrafting screening memoranda in connection with new business, lateral hiring, or as requested by members of the Conflicts Department or the Firm's Office of General Counsel; sending draft memoranda to Firm attorneys for review and approvalFinalizing and circulating screening memoranda to Firm personnelRequesting and tracking of acknowledgements to screening memoranda by screened persons via Intapp WallsSending reminders of ethical screen requirements to screened persons via Intapp WallsOngoing monitoring of walls activity to ensure compliance and disabling of walls when no longer needed or appropriateRunning screening reports or conflicts reports in response to requests from Conflicts team and Firm personnelAssisting with the drafting and maintenance of the Firm's policies and procedures regarding ethical screens for the Conflicts Department and the Firm; keeping abreast of ethical rules relating to ethical screens and acting as a resource on such rules for the Conflicts Department, Firm attorneys, and other Firm personnelConducting training regarding ethical screens for the Conflicts Department, Firm attorneys, and other Firm personnelConducting legal researchUpdating the firm's Intapp Walls system and conflicts database with new documents and informationWorking with Conflicts Department, Firm attorneys, and other departments such as IT and Accounting, to investigate and resolve file or document access issues relating to ethical screensActing as the main point of contact for the Conflicts Department during any upgrades or testing of the Intapp Walls system, participating in the testing and review of new software systems for use in the Conflicts DepartmentAssisting with compiling background data or doing research for screen resolution issuesAddressing inquiries from all levels of Firm constituents about Firm screens, escalating for attorney review and resolution as neededSupporting Conflicts team by reviewing and drafting engagement letters as neededProviding excellent customer service to all levels of Firm constituentsAssisting with various Conflicts Department and Office of General Counsel projects and special requests as assignedBASIC

and an active license to practice law in the United States required2
years of relevant professional experience in a Law Firm Conflicts environment requiredProficiency in in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat requiredADDITIONAL
Qualifications:
Previous experience with analytical research and/or experience with corporate research resources in an academic, legal, or business environment preferredProficiency in Intapp Walls and/or other Intapp products preferredProficiency in database systems and queries preferredCOMPETENCIES:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
