Yes Duties and Responsibilities Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Career Services, the Director of Career Communities provides leadership and vision for the career advising staff at Loyola Career Services.
Using a Career Communities framework, the Loyola Career Service office serves undergraduate and graduate students and alumni across academic disciplines and career aspirations on each of Loyola's three campuses (Lake Shore, Water Tower and Maywood).
This position will provide strategic direction to all Career Communities, ensuring a consistent focus on career readiness and student engagement.
The Director must be an inclusive, positive, team player who takes a holistic approach to student success, encouraging students to be reflective in their learning and to demonstrate social responsibility and a commitment to service.
Duties and Responsibilities -Provides leadership for all Career Communities, reflective of Loyola's diverse student population and their career outcomes -Oversees and evaluates career advising modalities, both virtually and in person, to ensure current best practices for students and alumni -Supervises four Associate Directors of unique Career Communities -Collaborates with the Employer Relations and Outreach Team leadership on events and programming throughout the academic year -Identifies opportunities for growing experiential learning offerings to students -Liases with faculty partners to ensure ongoing Career Services and curriculum alignment and oversees a robust portfolio of career development courses -Oversees career advisors in the planning and delivery of campus programming -Participates in professional development conferences/meetings and activities -Provides support to the Assistant Vice President for Career Services in engaging the University-wide career outcomes -Gathers and analyzes relevant data on advising appointments, program goals, etc.

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience o Master's degree in related field and at least three to five years of related experience in career advising.
Qualifications Required Qualifications -Master's degree in related field and at least three to five years of related experience in career advising -Experience supervising full time professional staff -Understand the career needs of students from underserved backgrounds and those that are the first in their family to go to college -Commitment to serving diverse student body and campus community -Team player, inclusive, positive outlook Preferred Qualifications -Knowledge of career competencies, career and student development theory, and key hiring trends impacting college graduates -Experience working in a complex, central career office at a college or university -Demonstrated success in launching new programs and partnerships -Proven organizational skills with attention to detail and strong customer service orientation.
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Certificates/Credentials/Licenses o Master's degree in related field and at least five to seven years of related experience in career advising.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
