Stantec's Chicago-based transportation practice is seeking a seasoned Senior Drainage Engineer to enhance our dynamic team.
You'll be integrated into a comprehensive Stantec delivery team that takes pride in delivering top-quality plans for IDOT, the Tollway, and local counties.
Your collaboration with Stantec's Roadway Engineers, Structural Engineers, and Environmental Scientists will entail working on diverse hydrologic/hydraulic studies and drainage improvement projects.
You'll contribute to a range of transportation projects, involving longitudinal drainage systems, bridges, and culverts, as well as specialized drainage improvement initiatives such as local neighborhood drainage upgrades and culvert replacements.

Your Key Responsibilities Analyze hydrologic / hydraulic stormwater conditions.
Design of stormwater management systems, storm drain systems, open channel conveyance, culvert analysis, bridge hydraulics and floodplain compensation.
Oversee production of drainage improvement plans.
Compilation of permits and reports for approval by regulating agencies.
Establish and track project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
Provide guidance to other engineers with less experience.
Provide direction and coordinate staff necessary to complete assignments.
Assist with preparation and / or review of proposals.
Your Capabilities and Credentials Experience with IDOT or other state DOT drainage criteria.
Desirable candidate will have working knowledge of hydraulic modeling software such as HEC-RAS, HY-8, and Geopak Drainage.
Knowledge in Microstation/Geopak/ Open Road Design.
Education and Experience Education:
Bachelor of Science (B.
S.
) degree in with emphasis Civil Engineering or related field
Experience:
Minimum eight (8) years of experience in hydrologic / hydraulic analysis and design is preferred.
Licensure:
Professional Engineer license in the state of Illinois, or the ability to obtain one within six months is required.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.
Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
