We are now hiring for hourly Recess Monitors to join our South Chicago and Midway teams!ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Supervises students during recess and maintains a harmonious atmosphere by encouraging peaceful resolution of conflicts.
Ensures students are orderly and acting appropriately.
Interacts with students to maintain order and provide assistance when needed.
Organizes and leads daily group activities.
Assumes responsibility for play equipment.
Directs movement of students to and from playground, lunchroom and classrooms in a safe and organized manner.
Assess playground for security and conditions of equipment and reports concerns to the lead recess monitor or school personnel.
Is responsible for planning and leading structured activities; may utilize curriculum.
Reports disciplinary and other concerns to the Recess Coordinator.
Provides assistance for students requiring additional guidance.
Maintains a safe environment for students at all times.
Responds to emergency situation (injured students, fights, etc.
) for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
Evaluates student injuries, determines course of action, performs minor first aid and completes required paperwork in compliance with Chicago Public Schools and Metropolitan Family Services.
Reports safety, sanitary and fire hazards immediately to Recess Coordinator.
Complies with Chicago Public Schools and Metropolitan Family Services policies; adheres to the Chicago Recess and Readiness Guide.
Professionally represents Chicago Public Schools and Metropolitan family.
Services in interactions with parents, community, staff and students.
Attend staff meetings and other recess-related meetings as scheduled.
Work collaboratively with other recess monitors.
Attends work regularly and is punctual.
Reports directly to Recess Coordinator.
May function as lead monitor in the absent of Recess Coordinator.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED required.
Experience working with children or youth in educational, activity or social service programs.
Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with school personnel, agency staff, parents and community partners.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
MFS staff are required to provide proof of vaccination or have an approved Medical exemption prior to starting employment.
If an approved Medical exemption is obtained, weekly testing may be required.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
