Our client is seeking an Information Governance Specialist to sit in either their Chicago or Washington, D.
C.
office.
The Information Governance Specialist manages the full information governance lifecycle for Legal Representation and Firm Business records.
The position provides foundational records management guidance and support for Firm personnel and supports information governance initiatives that reduce risk to the Firm and its clients.
Responsibilities:
Understands all aspects of the Firm's records and information governance policies and procedures and is able to articulate their requirements and associated best practices to Firm stakeholders Able to distinguish and appraise various types of legal practice and Firm administrative records Coordinates the receipt, review, and migration of physical and electronic records into the Firm Coordinates the collection, review, stakeholder approval, and transfer of physical and electronic records in response to client requests to transfer their file Coordinates and documents the receipt, notification, timekeeper survey, implementation, record collection, and annual review of legal holds Coordinates the receipt, approval, and implementation of matter access requests Identifies and documents business process workflow Develops and maintains strong relationships with administrative personnel and legal professionals to ensure personnel are able to perform their jobs while complying with department objectives Provides support for the Records Management Department as needed Basic Hiring Criteria:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Library Science, Information Science, or other related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered Minimum three years of information governance experience
Qualifications:
Solid understanding of information governance processes and methodologies, such as records classification, records transfers, document holds, destruction orders, records retention, and privacy impact assessments Understanding of the privacy and security objectives within a records management program Able to identify areas of risk and suggest process improvements Understanding of project management methodologies Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to convey information to a variety of audiences Solid writing and oral presentation skills with experience in writing procedures and reports Solid relationship and team-building skills, including the ability to serve as a consultant to all levels of the organization Able to adapt and be flexible under changing priorities and environments Excellent organizational skills, methodical and detail-oriented with the ability to research, analyze, manage, and report on processes and projects in a detailed and orderly manner Must possess strong leadership skills and successfully demonstrate competencies in records management, customer service, and computer skills Demonstrated experience with information management technologies, including litigation support tools, document management systems, e-mail systems, and image capture and data transfer technologies Prior law firm experience; Certified Records Manager designation or Information Governance Professional designation preferred Recommended Skills Adaptability Administration Assessments Attention To Detail Business Process Improvement Business Processes Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
