Head of A/V Engineering

Our client is looking to add a Head of Engineering to their team.
The position will be based in Chicago but include some travel to New York and London.
This person will drive the technical direction and provide insight throughout the A/V infrastructure life cycle.
They will design, develop, implement, and provide ongoing support of all audio/video infrastructure within the firm.
The position will encompass A/V installations, project management, research and evaluation of new products and technologies, training, and in-house and customer support responsibilities.
Responsibilities Technical leadership support for internal, customer, and C-level executive meetings.
Ensure all maintenance, updates and repairs are completed in a timely manner to provide uninterrupted service of all conference room equipment.
Pro-actively identify potential system issues and provide solutions to clients concerns or needs.
Provide design options for new installations and upgrades.
Ensure documentation and user instructions are up-to-date and easy to use.
Conduct research, stay up to date and collaborate with manufacturers, vendors and colleagues in the design, planning and implementation.
Maintain technical expertise in all areas of AV systems including network, hardware, software, codecs, audio video switchers, AV control systems, AV devices including monitors, microphones, cameras, etc.
Facilitate goal setting and problem solving on the team.
Qualifications Proven understanding of teleconferencing platforms such as Zoom and Teams, etc.
Demonstrates willingness and ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change.
Specialization in audio digital signal processors, video over IP, programming, networks, video conferencing, web conferencing, matrix switcher and sophisticated systems.
Expertise in AV hardware such as Poly, Logitech, Crestron, Extron, etc.
Competence in processing control, routing, and audio video signal flow.
Strong understanding of how domain interrelates with other components within the closed and enterprise networking environment.
Familiarity with graphics, encoding and video editing software.
Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for acquiring solutions.
Ability to communicate technical information clearly so that it may be understood by a non-technical individual.
Passion for coaching and developing members of your team.
Solution-oriented approach to analyzing technical problems that affect team.
