5K a year Under general supervision, protects employees, patients, visitors, medical staff, physical plant and equipment and enforces all hospital regulations.
Controls traffic inside and outside buildings and performs related public safety duties as assigned.
In addition, under direct supervision, assists in the vehicular transportation of elderly and handicapped patients to and from Loretto Hospital or other designated locations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

1.
Survey assigned areas for actual and potential hazards or hazardous behavior or conditions.
Reports all violations to immediate supervisor.
Takes steps to immediately correct hazards, if possible.

Patrols and posts as directed responding immediately to calls regarding security matters.
Observes and controls hospital parking lots in restricted areas.

Checks parcels and merchandise carried into and/or out of the building.

cards for compliance with hospital policy.
5.
Ensures that contractors and vendors are properly identified before gaining admittance to hospital property.

Ensures proper relief of personnel for breaks (lunch, dinner, etc.
).
7.
Performs duties of receptionist when filling in for public safety receptionist or as required.
8.
Investigates and reports all unusual incidents, and maintains a 24-hour log of all such incidents regardless of importance.
9.
Responds to a variety of situations including crowd control, fire, bomb threats and emergency room situations requiring immediate attention.
10.
Manages own time in a productive and reliable manner completing work assignments.
11.
Completes appropriate volume of work while maintaining quality standards.
12.
Organize work procedures to generate acceptable levels of productivity.
13.
Completes own work as required and will assist others as needed.
14.
Cooperates with coworkers and management to maintain a harmonious environment.
Adjust work schedule to accommodate changing priorities.
15.
Operates assigned equipment and performs all procedures in a safe manner.
Utilizes proper body mechanics in all job functions.
16.
Follows established emergency, infection control and/or universal precautions procedures as required.
17.
Maintains work area and equipment according to standards and policies.

Attends mandatory in-service related to safety and/or infection control.
19.
Supports and participates in department quality improvement activities.
20.
Provides quality improvements which enhance effectiveness and efficiency of department.
21.
Provides courteous service to internal/external customers in all activities.
22.
Offers assistance to all internal/external customers as appropriate and/or refers customer to appropriate individual or department.
23.
Communicates in a professional manner emphasizing objectively and non-judgmental viewpoints.
24.
Assist in solving customer problems in a cooperative manner.
EDUCATION and/or
Experience:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required' Possession of a valid PERC Card preferred One or more years of security guard/officer training or experience preferred.
Must have full workmg knowledge of security principles and practices.
Full working knowledge of hospital safety procedures preferred Basic knowledge of body mechanics and transportation procedures preferred Full working knowledge of city boundaries and locations preferred Excellent communication skills are imperative.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
