ROLE
Summary:
As Part-Time Security Officer at the Chicago Theater you will promote positive guest/client experiences during the beginning (ingress), middle of event and show departure (egress).
As a crucial member of our team, you will watch CCTV, answer phones, complete rounds and ensure there is no threat to the building, employees, and guest.
Be responsible for greeting guests and conduct rudimentary searches.
Ensure the safety of guests, assisting with emergency or medical situations, and answering general questions regarding the event or the Chicago Theater.
As a crucial member of our team, the Part-Time Security Officer may be requested to work a flexible schedule inclusive of early mornings, day & evening shifts (late evenings may be required), weekends, holidays and back to back events.
Additionally, the Part-Time Security Officer may be assigned to an area where adverse temperature/weather conditions may affect them.
This role requires Security Officers to stand for prolonged periods of time and move freely throughout the property during their shift.
Specific Functions/Activities
Summary:
Ensure work space is clean and safe.
Alert Supervisor of any issues prior to opening.
Check designated area to be sure all emergency exit pathways are clear and accessible prior to opening.
Alert Supervisor prior with any concerns.
Welcome guests to the MSG Chicago Theatre with a smile and friendly demeanor.
Search all guests entering the building and satisfying all alarms professionally while answering questions and concerns.
Assist third party vendors with any necessary set-up prior to ingress.
Be prepared to take an active role in Emergency Operations procedures (evacuation plan) through on-going training and drills.
Turn in any Lost and Found items to the Supervisor immediately.
Communicate any building deficiencies, security concerns, or safety issues to a Supervisor.
Ensure that event rules and policies are being adhered to as they pertain to a show.
Following the Security SOP's.
Report any threat to their supervisor.
Access Control for the building.
Utilize our computer systems and stay update on reporting.
Reviewing CCTV on investigations and reviewing tape.
Qualifications:
Previous Security, Event Security, Security Operations Command Center experience preferred.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work with large crowds.
Must be able to tolerate and work in a loud, fast paced environment.
Maintain a professional manner, presence, and appearance always while on premises/duty.
All candidates must be available to work 75% of the monthly show schedule (No guarantee of minimum hours).
Must be comfortable with heights (working on high floor) and navigating steep steps and inclines.
Must be willing to rotate to various positions within a shift.
Any other duties as assigned by building management.
Computer and email proficiency are required.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB:
Must be receptive to working outside in inclement weather and extreme temperatures.
Ability to lift 25 pounds Ability to stand and move about the theater throughout the duration of the shift.
Ability to walk stairs and complete daily rounds.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, have split days off, work weekends and holidays in a 24 X 7 environment.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
