This position is based out of Feeding America's Chicago office location.
At Feeding America, we believe in offering a flexible work environment.
Employees can be in the office an average of 2 days a week (when not travelling for work) and work from home on other days.
Employees also have access to a 30-day work anywhere program during the course of each calendar year that can be combined with PTO and/or holidays.
The OpportunityThe Manager, Development Resources is dedicated to donor communication, stewardship, and engagement within the Development department.
The Manager, Development Resources enables fundraising relationship managers to engage and cultivate long-term relationships with donors and supporters through the creation and management of compelling, mission-based, customized, and evergreen donor-facing content.
This role is responsible for producing persuasive funding proposals, impactful stewardship reports and shelf-ready content and resources to engage donors, secure funding, and convey the impact of philanthropic contributions.

The salary range listed below represents the starting to mid-point salaries for positions and comparable roles at this level at our organization and candidates should expect to be offered a salary near the starting point of the range that is listed on the job posting.
We make exceptions for highly experienced (multiple years of at-level experience) new hires in accordance with our pay practices.
Once hired, employees have the opportunity to progress through salary ranges via regular merit increases and step promotions.
Salary Range:
$82,000 to $87,000 Based on Experience
Responsibilities:
Content creation:
Crafts persuasive narratives that effectively communicate the organization's mission, objectives, and funding needs.
Proposals and grants:
Leads a portfolio of key corporate, foundation and individual donors - working in conjunction with relationship managers - to develop solicitations.
Executes the research and writing of proposals and grant opportunities, collaborating with multiple departments including grants, programs, communications, and marketing to ensure strength-based, consistent messaging that aligns with donor interests and reflects Feeding America's messaging, voice and brand standards.
Stewardship reporting:
Develops and produces stewardship reports that convey the impact of donor contributions.
Distills food bank reporting, programmatic updates, statistics, and stories to demonstrate the impact of philanthropic gifts.
Shelf-ready materials:
Creates and ensures the timely updating of resources for broad use by the Development team.
Case for Support:
Supports the updating of the organization's case for support resources including writing, review and editing of materials, ensuring integration of organizational messaging and accuracy of data.
Content strategy:
Helps implement a comprehensive content strategy that aligns with Feeding America's fundraising goals and objectives.
Content resource management:
Works within The Stewardship Center (TSC) content team and with the TSC stewardship and engagement team to create and manage a development content library, ensuring easy access to resources by Development team members.
Builds knowledge and content on key issues related to Feeding America, the Feeding America network, programs, national and local hunger relief and the organization's impact on the issue of hunger, making it available to the TSC team.
Serves as a liaison to teams/departments within the organization to obtain timely information for use by TSC members for content creation, donor engagement and dissemination across Development, when appropriate.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Technical Competencies &
Experience:
O 5
years of experience in writing, editing, creating content, or producing resource materials.
O Familiarity with nonprofit operations, philanthropy, and fundraising principles.
O Experience in content creation in support of fundraisers, with a focus on proposal, grant and stewardship report writing within a nonprofit or philanthropic context considered a plus.
O Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft persuasive, well-structured and impactful written materials.
O Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
O Proven project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage timelines and competing demands effectively.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
