The Lead Benefits Analyst is responsible for leading the day-to-day administration of a variety of benefit plans, supporting associates with inquiries, producing financial analyses and reports, administering health benefits, defined benefit and defined contribution plans, overseeing disability plans, and ensuring ERISA and other legislative requirements are met.
Responsibilities (May perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned).
Benefits Administration Leads absence management/leave of absence process.
This includes working with associates, field HR departments and leave and disability vendor on a regular basis.
Oversees compliance with LOA policies.
Serves as department lead for retirement and health and welfare plan administration including vendor management.
Resolves issues with eligibility and coverage by working with enrollment vendor and benefit providers.
Ensures all retirement plans (401(k) and non-qualified plan) are administered properly and in compliance.
Completes annual non-discrimination testing andretirement plan audits.
Leads annual enrollment project plan to support the benefit strategy.
Reviews and analyzes data from HRIS system and vendor enrollment system for various reporting tasks.
Assists with payroll processing (loading employee data and sending files to vendors).
Develops and implements new processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Compliance Understands all legal and reporting requirements as they relate to all benefit programs (i.
e.
, ACA, FMLA, ADA, SPDs).
Assists Manager in annual government filings and audits and keeps abreast of regulatory changes.
Ensures all compliance items are completed in accordance with regulatory timelines (PCORI, 1095s, other annual notices, etc.
) Makes recommendations for policy changes to ensure company remains in compliance.
Communications Assists with the drafting, preparation and review of communications for employees and HR including annual enrollment, EAP, wellness, and 401(k) related communications.
Assists with employee communications curriculum such as employee information sessions, regular HR meetings, etc.
Education & Experience Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
5-7 years of experience, preferably in Benefits, Total Rewards, or other HR Fields.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Experience working with HR systems is preferred.
