The incumbent is responsible for reviewing and writing various legal contracts, negotiate and manage client and vendor contracts and ensures legal compliance across the Company's business practices, and policies.
Responsible for negotiating and drafting legal documents for a variety of transactions across all departments.
Responsible for all aspects of closing transactions, including negotiating and providing legal expertise on real estate fund closings, joint ventures, due diligence, acquisitions, dispositions and financings.
Provides strategic support on business objectives and reputational risk for competitive advantages and sound execution on deal structuring and negotiation.
Drafts and reviews limited partner correspondence and due diligence responses.
Reviews and provides counsel on merits of claims and lawsuits filed against the Company and recommends appropriate plan of action.
Reviews and drafts all litigation-related legal documentation and manage outside counsel for efficiency with time and resources.
Oversees corporate entity structure, formation, annual maintenance and dissolution.
Conducts due diligence for corporate mergers and acquisitions Responsible for corporate and asset level insurance program, which includes managing insurance brokers, large insurance claims, carrier issues and insurance bidding process to ensure alignment with corporate objectives and fund and lender requirements.
Responsible for drafting and maintaining investment committee meeting minutes and records for investment decisions.
Ensures corporate and asset-level compliance with all business and other licensing obligations, including compliance with state leasing and broker licensing requirements across the portfolio.
Leads, manages and trains a team of dedicated legal and compliance professionals in addition to mentoring and training associates in departments throughout the company Education- Law degree and a current license to practice law in the State of IllinoisExperience-Minimum of fifteen (15) years of legal experience, preferably in real estate investment management.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
