Job Description:
UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS FOUNDATIONhas an immediate opening for anProspect Development AnalystThe University of Illinois Foundation is the official fundraising and private gift-receiving organization of the University of Illinois.
It works closely with alumni and friends, faculty and staff, corporations and foundations, as well as campus development professionals to create fundraising programs and opportunities that benefit the University.
The Prospect Development Analyst will Support frontline fundraisers and other advancement clients by identifying prospective donors (prospects) with the capacity and propensity to make major gifts to the University of Illinois; referring those prospects to advancement units based on affiliations and interests; and providing prospect research support and enhancement of prospect management data.
DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Perform proactive and reactive research on individuals for contact information, employment, community involvement, wealth and giving capacity, philanthropic interests, education history, using online sources.
Update the customer relationship management (CRM) system with newly found information about individuals and organizations.
Identify and refer prospects to advancement units to determine if they have major giving potential.
Use research resources and perform analysis to determine which prospects should be referred, and to which units.
Deliver curated lists of prospects to fundraisers on request.
Build strong relationships with frontline fundraisers and other advancement clients by attending team meetings, answering questions, and providing prompt, thorough, and accurate service through the completion of research requests.
Partner with advancement units to review and optimize their portfolios of prospects and donors.
Serve as subject matter experts for prospect management data, practices and policies.
Educate fundraising staff as appropriate on using the CRM, and make them aware of available training materials.
Maintain the accuracy and completeness of advancement data by auditing, updating, and cleaning prospect management data.
Review interactions with constituents entered by advancement staff and port information from those to structured fields in the CRM.
Use data retrieval tools for prospect identification and analysis, including specialized dashboards, CRM query tools, and/or SQL.
Successfully manage and appropriately prioritize requests from partners across the advancement enterprise using judgment of time required, effort, and business impact.
Balance a healthy curiosity against efficiency and time management.
Support strategic initiatives within UIF Research & Portfolio Management or representing UIF Research & Portfolio Management in cross-functional team projects across the UI Advancement enterprise.
REQUIRED
Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree Familiarity with general online research techniques, methodology and resources.
Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, and to formulate productive partnerships with individuals and groups at all levels of University staff.
Ability to quickly comprehend, explain, and operationalize complex data sets and analyses, to appropriately manage and communicate sensitive information, and to foster a collaborative work environment.
Experience with database maintenance and retrieval; experience with or a capacity to become fluent in SQL, Blackbaud CRM and other analytical tools.
Competency in using Microsoft Office products; Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word.
PREFERRED
Qualifications:
2 years experience in the Advancement or non-profit sector, or experience in prospect or business development, marketing and consumer marketing trends, or another relevant field.
An advanced degree that is relevant to the above work experience may substitute for this.
Results-driven, fast learner who is self-motivated, can concurrently manage and reprioritize multiple projects, and who brings experience from a variety of functional areas across an enterprise.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
