Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Street Sweeper Operator to join our team.
This individual will be responsible for operating street sweeping equipment to clean streets, roads, and parking lots in designated areas.
The ideal candidate will have experience in operating heavy machinery, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently.
Key
Responsibilities:
Operate street sweeper equipment to remove debris, dirt, and trash from streets, parking lots, and other assigned areas.
Conduct pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on street sweeping equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
Follow designated routes and schedules for street cleaning while adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols.
Monitor and adjust the controls of the street sweeper to effectively clean different surfaces and areas.
Report any equipment malfunctions or incidents to the supervisor promptly.
Complete logs and reports regarding the areas cleaned, mileage, and maintenance activities.
Assist in the training of new operators and participate in safety meetings and training sessions.
Work closely with other public works staff to coordinate street cleaning with other maintenance activities.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to waste disposal and street cleaning.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
Minimum of 1 year of experience operating heavy machinery, preferably street sweepers.
Knowledge of street sweeping operations, traffic laws, and safety protocols.
Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Availability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Good communication skills and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Work Environment:
The Street Sweeper Operator will be working outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, or snow.
This position requires operating heavy machinery in populated areas and may involve exposure to dust and noise.
