Global Leader in Minerals and MaterialsHighly Visible role leading the P&L of Product GroupAbout Our ClientOur client for the Commercial Sales Director opportunity is a global industrial materials and minerals processor serving a wide range of customers and industries including, but not limited to construction and building materials, filtration, metals, electronics, coatings, polymers, and more.
The Commercial Sales Director will have commercial P&L responsibility for the product segment with a focus on driving growth from current accounts, and hunting new customers driving new growth.
The Sales Director will own the P&L of the product group and set the marketing strategy, pricing strategy, and overall growth strategy of the segment.
The Sales Director will work closely with the Director of Operations on the execution for the production, manufacturing, and delivery aspects.
This person can work remote, but must be in North Carolina or willing and able to relocate to be near the North American Headquarters.
Job DescriptionOwn the P&L and commercial strategy of the product group in conjunction with the Director of Operations for the North America regionDirect, led, and manage a team small, but growing sales team as well as driving growth through distribution partnersExecute strategic sales plan and sales activities in order to gain market share and increase overall profitsWork in tandem with Vice President, Director of Operations, Marketing and Product Marketing teams to develop and execute sales and market strategies, conduct quarterly sales meetings, business reviews, and business plansDevelop monthly sales reports based on goals and KPIs and report back to the Vice PresidentConduct joint sales customer calls with Sales Managers helping to pursue new business and ensure retention of current customersDrive growth through new customer acquisition demonstrating a strong hunter mentality focusing on growthLed from the front setting the example as a working Sales Leader driving new business and managing a book of customers as a working managerCreate a culture of learning by proactively engaging and involving the sales team in regular communications, initiate sales meetings, observe client visits and actively participate in coaching and training.
Ensure standards of discipline are maintained and successes are celebratedDrive commercial and operational excellence establishing and maintaining a continuous improvement culture and leadership styleProvide market and product feedback to marketing and product development teamsThe Successful ApplicantBachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, EngineeringMBA Preferred10-15 years of sales experience within materials and minerals selling to industrial customers3-5 years of experience in a Sales Leadership role managing a teamHunter business development mindsetExperience in ceramics, polymers, mining, silica, glass, coatings, building materials, or similarStrong mentoring, coaching, and development skillsFamiliar with ISO requirements is a plusStrong leadership skills and ability to work with cross functional departmentsExcellent communication and presentation skillsStrong personality and mentoring skills with the ability to influence internal and external customers.
Ability to travel 50% plus in the North American regionWhat's on OfferCompetitive base salary $160,000 - $190,000, bonus, company car or car allowance (candidate can choose), phone, company credit card, computer, 401K, vacation, hybrid office environment, and full benefits.
