Job DescriptionAECOM 's Design and Consulting Services-Americas legal department is actively seeking a creative, highly talented attorney to support AECOM's operations in the Western U.
S.
This will be a hybrid position including a combination of both remote and in-office, with the expectation to go into the office at least 3 days a week.
This role will be based out of larger AECOM offices located within the West Region to include, but not be limited to, Los Angeles, CA; Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; and Denver, CO.
The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in construction law and legal issues related to contracts for engineering, construction, and other technical services.
The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
Guidance on risk management and adherence to company policiesReview, draft, and negotiate contracts, subcontracts and other legal documents relating to architecture, engineering, construction, environmental, and other services provided by the company to clients in the public and private sectors, including documents related to teaming arrangements, joint ventures, confidentiality agreements, licenses, purchase and sales agreements, insurance, and other mattersAct in an advisory capacity making recommendations that may have an important bearing on the conduct of the organization's businessWork with management and staff to resolve pre-litigation disputes and potential claimsSupervise and manage litigation, including professional liability, breach of contract, and personal injury/wrongful death matters, utilizing outside counsel retained by the company to maximize quality and cost-effectivenessManage external counsel and litigation budgetsHandle subpoenas, document requests, and other litigation related items with limited support staffPrepare and review disclosures to public agencies and support corporate secretary functionsReview and conduct research into legislation, cases and legal precedents and emerging government policies to the extent required to address contract-specific or other mattersPrepare and review legal memoranda and briefs relating to organizational risks and activitiesProvide staff with guidance on compliance with federal and provincial laws, statutes and regulationsProvide support to multiple offices, and support other team members within the broader West Region as may be necessary based on experience and/or work loadsSupport the legal department's goals of diversity, equity and inclusion amongst the legal department, the company and outside vendors.

BA/BS
at least 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationAs well as:

Degree from accredited law schoolMember in good standing with any U.
S.
state barDemonstrated legal experience with a major engineering company, contractor, consultant or law firm in the areas of engineering and construction lawCapable of presenting before senior managementCapable of working independently with minimal oversightDemonstrated drafting and negotiation experience involving professional services and construction related agreementsProficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPointAbility to travel periodically - approximately 10%Preferred

The salary range for this position is $180,000 - $210,000 annually.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
