The Opportunity
Description
We're looking for a Quality Compliance Specialist, working in the Manufacturing industry in Chicago, Illinois, United States.
Our client has immediate openings for an experienced Quality Compliance Specialist at our manufacturing facility conveniently located in Chicago, IL. As a Quality Compliance Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, quality, and consistency of our food products. You will work closely with production teams to implement and maintain quality control measures throughout the manufacturing process.
Our current openings are on the 1st 7am-3pm , with schedules that offer improved work-life balance. Salary is up to $17 per hour.
Responsibilities:
Quality Control Monitoring: Conduct routine inspections and checks at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.
Product Testing: Perform quality tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products using appropriate testing equipment and procedures.
Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of quality control activities, test results, and production data. Document any deviations from standards and collaborate with the quality assurance team to implement corrective actions.
Sanitation and Hygiene Compliance: Monitor and enforce adherence to sanitation and hygiene protocols in production areas to prevent contamination and ensure product safety.
Non-Conformance Management: Identify and investigate non-conformances, quality incidents, and customer complaints. Work with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality processes, reduce waste, and optimize efficiency in the manufacturing environment.
Training and Support: Provide training and support to production personnel on quality procedures, standards, and best practices.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about relevant food safety regulations, industry trends, and best practices. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including FDA, USDA, and HACCP guidelines.
Experience Required for Your Success
1-2 years of experience in quality program implementation and maintenance, along with strong knowledge of food safety and quality systems, continuous improvement, and problem-solving.
Experience and working knowledge of HACCP/HARPC programs. The ability to assess and understand food safety risks.
Experience in a food manufacturing facility a plus.
Auditing experience (internal, supplier or third party) and training is a plus.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
