MOBILE CRISIS RESP PSYCHOTHERAPIST

GENERAL
Summary:

The Psychotherapist's primary role as a part of the Crisis Team, is to complete screenings for individuals in various stages of psychiatric crises, provide de-escalation and stabilization interventions, and assess for disposition and aftercare recommendations on a rotating, on-call schedule, but they will have additional clinical responsibilities in the Outpatient Behavioral Health Program. They will carry a caseload of longer term therapy clients and may become involved in other opportunities of interest in the Behavioral Health Program. Psychotherapists are on call on a rotating schedule to complete assessments 24 hours/7 days a week and receive additional compensation for their time on call.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and family crisis intervention, de-escalation, and stabilization in various settings including remotely and in the community
  • Complete crisis assessments for children, adolescents, and adults experiencing psychiatric crises
  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy services
  • Document services in an electronic medical record system
  • Coordinate with interdisciplinary team to provide disposition recommendations and ensure a warm hand-off for next level of care
  • Requires rotating on-call shift coverage that includes evening, weekends, and holidays
  • Work with other members of the Mobile Crisis Response Team to respond in our catchment area (Pilsen, Little Village, Lawndale)

MINIMUM EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Marital Family Therapy or related behavioral health program is required, Master's Degree is preferred.

MINIMUM WORK
Experience:
  • Must be culturally competent.
  • Bilingual Spanish is a plus
  • Must have valid driver's license and a car

REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:
LSW, LCSW, LPC, LCPC or LMFT preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
