Located in Lincoln Park and operating on a hybrid schedule, this company has almost doubled in revenue in the past year and are building out their team due to this massive growth.
They are actively seeking to identify a Controller to join their team.
Reporting directly to the CFO, this individual will have full ownership of the accounting function for three entities, while managing a team of 3
individuals.
In addition, you will have the ability to make an immediate impact by driving process improvements within the team.
The CFO is looking for someone who is strong in the manufacturing industry and in cost accounting, who can be their right-hand person and thrive in the growth they are experiencing.
Job DescriptionController
Responsibilities:
Coordinate month, quarter, and year-end closing processes, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, with a focus on inventory and cost-related accounts.
Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard inventory assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Coordinate and oversee the annual external audit process, including the preparation of audit schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
Manage the end-to-end payroll process, including calculating wages, bonuses, and deductions, ensuring accuracy, and processing payments to employees.
Stay up-to-date with federal, state, and local payroll regulations to ensure compliance with tax laws, wage and hour laws, and other relevant regulations.
Prepare and file payroll tax returns and ensure timely and accurate tax payments to avoid penalties.
Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Lead and develop a high-performing accounting team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
