Senior Linux Application Support Engineer
Leading Financial Organization in Chicago is seeking a Senior Linux Engineer with experience in Application Support.
The Systems Engineer must have knowledge of application deployment/configuration and be comfortable with Linux/Windows platform, as well as demonstrate experience with Java to configure and troubleshoot applications.
Principal Accountabilities:
The primary purpose of this position is to support of all Electronic Trading mission critical applications for all of Company's managed environments.
The engineer is responsible for performing accurate application deployments and providing second level support of these applications.
Education:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related discipline is required; or equivalent combination of education and relevant proven work experience that is required for the specific job level.
Experience:
- 3
years of Linux/Unix system administrator experience with root access in a production environment. - 3
years experience with SQL and Relational databases (eg Oracle). - 3
years of Unix Shell/Perl/etc Scripting. - In-depth understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems and networking.
- Must understand TCP/IP, routing, interfaces, resolvers, etc in a Unix environment.
Tibco RV, Multicast experience a plus
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
