Area of Responsibility
Build and lead the Category Management Center of Excellence
Direct development of breakthrough category management solutions and processes for the sales and marketing of alcohol beverages
Approve and resource R&D plans
Ensures that solutions embedded with region sales teams
Ensures linkage with key functions (e.g. Insights)
Build business partnerships, internally and externally
Build collaborative partnership with retailer senior leadership
Coach NAVPs and TLs on category management and eCommerce capabilities
Engage with chain on retailer sell-in
Represent MillerCoors at key trade association meetings
Build company capability in category management and eCommerce solutions
Organizes, operates, and assumes risk for Space Management team
Team capability building and talent acquisition
Build leading edge processes
Create environment of collaboration
Lead L&D strategy for category management & eCommerce solutions, internally and with distributors
Implementation of category management solution offerings
Set clear application standards
Direct and approve process and service anchoring plans
Enable and approve measurement systems
Place and monitor execution resources (e.g. shelf sets)
Ensure coordination of support functions
Agency & Program Management
Translate trade insights and understanding into strategic partnership with agencies and internal stakeholders.
Set direction for JDA, MarketTrack
Initiate relationships with eCommerce solution providers, online retailers
People Leadership & Development
Attract, lead, manage, and mentor employees in such a way to ensure retention, development, and superior performance of talent.
Oversee the development of category management, space management and eCommerce capabilities and expertise.
Education level and/or experience
Seasoned business leader 12
years in a senior leadership role within an established CPG organization, preferably in sales and/or category management
Post-graduate degree is preferred
Proven experience in implementing leading capabilities in category management
Proven experience in the effective management of change programs
Prefer experience with eCommerce in the retail environment
Skills
Advanced knowledge of general business practices with a strong general management, financial and strategic acumen
Long term organizational development and leadership capability
Management of highly strategic and analytical projects that resulted in the effective conversion of insights into actionable solutions
Advanced business understanding of category management tools, resources, and best in class capability
Consolidated understanding of pricing disciplines, demand curve analysis, price gap analytics, margin and mix management
Proven experience in effectively leading cross functional and multi-dimensional teams
Ability to synthesize and analyze multiple data points to create comprehensive category management strategies
Solid understanding of research and modeling, negotiation of contracts, and managing vendors
Ability to leverage outside tools and resources
