Overview
Shiftgig, one of Chicago's hottest and fastest growing technology companies, is actively seeking an Instructional Design Specialist to make an impact on their app-users and internal employees. This entry-level candidate will act as a writer, designer, and course developer, owning the production of media-rich learning content for a range of audiences. The ideal candidate will have previous experience thriving in a fast-paced environment for a high growth company.
Responsibilities
What you'll be doing:
Research, outline, gather, develop, and publish high-quality, media-rich learning solutions for adult learners that include, but are not limited to, eLearning courses, classroom training or blended learning, and supplementary learning resources
Create multimedia assets (animation, images, audio, video, etc.) for use in eLearning courses
Write storyboards, interactive scripts, and facilitates video creation, as necessary
Design on-brand supporting graphics, job aids, and outbound communications
Ensure all written content is clear, accurate, consistent, and free of spelling and grammatical errors
Develop effective learning partner relationships for each operating market and manages established learning objectives for the target audience
Consult with key stakeholders and subject matter experts (SME) to identify job tasks and knowledge/performance gaps
Develop and maintain project plans in-line with Company objectives
Lead and participate in special projects, including the piloting of new and emerging learning technologies, learning effectiveness, learning metrics, course delivery, etc.
Evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs and make future recommendations accordingly
Effectively manage interactions with stakeholders/SME's, including meeting facilitation, expectations setting, and ongoing project correspondence
Effectively and successfully manage multiple projects to achieve project goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
Qualifications
What you'll need:
Bachelor's Degree in Instructional or Curriculum Design, Adult Education, Communications, or related field
Knowledge and demonstrated understanding of adult learning theories and instructional design principles
1-3 years of outstanding work experience in instructional design, technical writing, teaching, instructional technology support (or related field) or equivalent combination of education and experience
Excellent written and oral communication skills with a critical eye for nuance, detail, and branded voice
Hands-on experience working with various tools/ software to create high-quality, multimedia learning content (e.g. Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
Experienced systems administration for large-scale learning management systems (Bridge or Canvas experience is a plus)
Extremely detail oriented with a demonstrated ability to effectively organize work, prioritize and manage time in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
High comfort level with technology and ability to quickly learn and utilize new software applications
Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to hit challenging deadlines through effective project management and prioritization.
Demonstrated experience partnering with leaders, SMEs, and facilitators to translate business objectives into effective learning interventions
Experience in the customer service, hospitality and/or food service industries a plus

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
