Summary
The IT Support Assistant has safety, customer satisfaction, and business responsibilities within Cummins Sales and Service. The position will provide IT support to the Omaha office as well as traveling to the branches throughout the Cummins Central Distribution Region to provide support.
Please note:
This position is able to work out of either the Kansas City, MO or Omaha, NE location. The position is posted in both locations, but there is only one open position.
Responsibilities
Know and follow all Company and customer safety rules, including maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly work area, and fully participate in Company accident prevention and safety improvement activities.
Respond to all customer requests courteously and professionally, in a timely and responsive manner. Maintain a clean, professional personal appearance at all times, meeting all Company standards for professional appearance.
Performs preventative maintenance on IT systems and networks; monitors system performance and accuracy.
Performs root-cause analysis to identify issues.
Perform help desk support for ticket response and resolution.
Provide support for Apple and Android devices.
Diagnose and evaluate hardware failures on personal computing equipment.
Support ShoreTel VoIP phone system.
Complete hardware, software, reassigns, and surrender requests.
Escalate issues to appropriate technical personnel when necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
Maintain company and product confidentiality.
Stay apprised of new techniques relevant to the work being performed; achieve and maintain technical competency.
Skills
Technical Troubleshooting - Knowledge of approaches, tools and techniques for anticipating, recognizing, and resolving technical (hardware, software, application or operational) problems.
IT Incident Management Process - Knowledge of approaches, tools and techniques for anticipating, recognizing, and resolving technical (hardware, software, application or operational) problems.
Hardware/Networks/Operating System Interaction - The ability to understand the basic tenets of the physical IT system and that system's relation to the application.
Production Support - Experienced in multiple aspects of production support processes, including monitoring and troubleshooting customer response and physical security.
IT Change Management Process - Ability to systematically control changes to Information Technology (IT) systems and maintain their integrity and traceability throughout their life cycle.
Analyze Issues - Understands complex concepts and problems and identifies how they relate to key processes
Requirements
Associates degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent related experience preferred.
Superior communication skills, positive attitude and professional in demeanor and appearance.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, 8.xx desktop operating systems, Windows 2008/12 server platforms, network diagnostic tools, Active Directory, DHCP and VPN troubleshooting.
Must be able to travel to other Cummins locations.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
Ability to work with a wide range of end-users:
from new computer users to knowledgeable developers.
Be willing to work all shifts, weekends and holidays.
Must have experience with Dell hardware.
Must have a record of good attendance and performance at prior jobs.
Must be able to work in an independent environment with remote supervision.
Must be able to lift 35 pounds occasionally.
Must have the physical ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Protective Glasses and Protective Footwear as required.
Compensation and Benefits
Base rate commensurate with experience. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
