JOB SUMMARY
S&C is the specialist in high-voltage switching, protection and control, providing products for the electric power industry since 1911. The Electronic Hardware team is responsible for designing and developing state of the art analog and digital based controls for making the power grid smarter and more reliable.
The Role
Looking for a Design Engineer (Electronics) to join our Electronic Hardware Engineering team. You will be supporting senior engineers on product design and testing related activities. Such activities include analog-digital circuit simulation, tolerance and stress analysis, component de-rating, thermal, conducted and radiated emissions and all safety and EMC compliance testing. Also, you will be working closely with the Quality and operations teams on manufacturing related issues that may impact the reliability of our products. The next generation of S&C products offer a lot of opportunities for creating cost effective and efficient designs that help set our products apart in the market, including raising Quality and reliability to higher levels. If you are a hands-On hardware engineer with a strong analytical background who likes working on a variety of technologies, likes solving tough problems, and are looking for the excitement of working on the next generation of Smart Grid technologies, then this is the role for you.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Functional
Perform analog-digital circuit simulations using Spice base software
Perform Monte Carlo analysis
Perform hands on troubleshooting and debugging of electronic hardware including analog-digital, power electronics and communication hardware
Participate in the product development process
Assist in root cause failure analysis
Perform Engineering Verification testing as well as Design Verification testing
Perform EMC compliance validation testing
Create or modify schematic designs
Assist with the transferring of new designs to production
Provide engineering support for existing products
Leadership
Serves as Team Member on selected projects and cross-functional teams
Serve as active Team Member on project related design reviews
Interpersonal
Interfaces with Internal customers to include design / development engineers, Quality Staff, Sourcing and Purchasing Staff
External customers to include suppliers, external testing Labs
Must possess ability to articulate detailed technical information, both written and orally, to other S&C customer.
To select this job as one of interest to you, at a minimum, you must have the following:
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree, Master's degree preferred, in Electrical Engineering
Familiar with the use of test equipment such as oscilloscopes, surge generators, power analyzers etc
Familiar with CAD schematic entry tools and analog simulations software
One to three years of hands-on experience with mix signal hardware design and or testing

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
