Position
Summary:
The person in this position exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures. Join a team of researchers conducting a prospective study of inner-city women, examining how traumatic life experiences, PTSD, and quality and quantity of sleep relate to chronic physical pain. This 2-year research project will examine how resiliency and vulnerability factors moderate the impact of traumatic life experiences, violence, and abuse, quality and quantity of sleep on the emergence of chronic pain and use of opioids for pain. Research assistant duties include recruiting participants, running participants through the study protocols by conducting standardized psychological interviews, reviewing data and making graphs. In the past, research assistants have helped to write manuscripts for publication and presented at conferences. A background in psychology, social or life sciences and ability to work well with ethnic minority women. Strong communication skills and ability to interact productively with the research team, other research assistants, post-doctoral fellows, and study volunteers. The person must be detail-oriented when following study protocol procedures for all study tasks.

Qualifications:
B.S or B.A. degree.
Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills
Assist in managing sleep data
Ability to prioritize workload and carry out assignments with minimum supervision while being flexible to project needs
Excellent communication skills, including ability to interact competently and in a respectful manner with ethnic minority populations.
Ability to effectively navigate research participants and interact productively with the other research assistants, team members, post-doctoral fellows, and study volunteers
Basic computer proficiency.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
