Job Description Role / Title The Senior Data Engineer, Global People Analytics is responsible for building and maintaining a data warehouse for global people related data for the company. This person will play a critical role in building a sustainable backbone on which all people analytics efforts will be built. This person will work closely with both IT and global teams in creating and maintaining this data warehouse. This role reports directly to the Global Head of People Analytics. Key Responsibilities include: Subject matter expert in data engineering team on the People Analytics team Responsible for data design, data extracts and transforms, data quality monitoring, enhancements and ongoing support Responsible for regular extraction, consolidation, cleaning and eventual automation of employee data from workday and other people data sources - Build and publish data sources for monthly dashboarding and advanced analyses Ensures the data ecosystem is conducive to advanced analytics in addition to basic dashboarding Applies broad knowledge of technology options, technology platforms, design techniques and approaches across the data warehouse life cycle phases to design an integrated, quality analytics service to address business requirements Meets and collaborates with business users on requirements, objectives and metrics. Designs, develops and implement the technology infrastructure for all the components of an analytics platform Ensures completeness and compatibility of the technical infrastructure to support system performance, availability and architecture requirements Designs and plans for the integration for all data warehouse technical components Provides input and recommendations on technical issues to BI engineers and people data scientists Develops the implementation and operation support plans Responsible for Tableau security group administration Minimum Qualifications BS in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related technical discipline 5+ Years of Data Warehouse Experience with data management platforms Industry experience as a Data Engineer or related specialty (e.g., Software Engineer, Business Intelligence Engineer, Data Scientist) with a track record of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large datasets Demonstrated strength in SQL, data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousing Experience in maintaining data warehouse systems and working on large scale data transformation using Hadoop, Hive, or other Big Data technologies Coding proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Spark, Python, Ruby, Scala, Java, etc.) Experience mentoring and managing other Data Engineers, ensuring data engineering best practices are being followed Proven track record of sharing analytical outcomes through written communication, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams Explore and learn the latest big data technologies to provide new capabilities and increase efficiency Preferred Qualifications Experience in people analytics, or use of employee data to derive business relevant insights Experience building data products incrementally and integrating and managing datasets from multiple sources Experience working with different big data technologies (AWS, Azure, Oracle, Google, HP, etc) Experience with large-scale data warehousing and analytics projects Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate complex technology solutions to senior leadership, gain alignment, and drive progress Experience using business intelligence reporting tools like Tableau. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
