Supervising Structural Engineer

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Supervising Structural Engineer in Chicago to work on exciting projects for IDOT and the Illinois Tollway. Candidates should possess an entrepreneurial spirit and have the ability to leverage strong regional relationships from which we can continue to grow our structural practice in Illinois. Duties and Responsibilities: Business development and general marketing with an emphasis on bridges and transportation related structures. Growing the region's business and marketplace share. Professional development/mentoring and training of professional staff and finding excellent talent for future growth. Establishing or continuing relationships with local and regional clients to secure backlog and assure future growth. Staff mentoring, training and performance reviews. Project management of small to large sized transportation projects including technical, budget and schedule. Conceptual through final analysis and design of steel and concrete bridges of various types and configurations from simple short spans to long span or complex structures and other transportation (vehicular and pedestrian) structural systems. Evaluation of bridges and transportation structures (vehicular, rail and transit facilities) and the identification and prioritization of repairs. Analysis and load rating of existing bridges (vehicular and rail). Conceptual through final analysis and design of the rehabilitation of existing bridges, buildings, and infrastructure and other transportation related structural systems. Preparation of final drawings, technical specifications, construction cost estimates and construction schedules for new and rehabilitation of existing bridges and other transportation or facilities related structural systems. Review of construction phase submittals. Preparation and review of technical reports and cost proposals. Quality Control & Assurance reviews of all project deliverables. Job Requirements Minimum Qualifications: The successful candidate should possess BS degree in Civil Engineering/Structural Engineering Professional Engineer license in the State of Illinois Structural Engineer license in the State of Illinois A minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible experience in structural engineering. Good communication skills, both written and oral Experience should include the Project Management of multi-discipline projects, including the responsibility and control for technical quality, budget and schedule Preferred Qualifications Extensive participation in Professional Societies/Associations is preferred Hands-on experience with structural analysis software such as LARSA, SAP2000, and MIDAS are desirable Master's degree in structural engineering Bridge inspection experience and qualification as per FHWAe

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
