Position Summary Our team is looking to add an experienced Architect in support of a multi-billion-dollar airport capital Redevelopment Program. The redevelopment will occur in the middle of an active airport. The existing terminal and concourses will remain operational while the new facility is built in place in a phased approach. This position allows for the opportunity to be a major contributor to the growth of one of the busiest airports in the world as part of the program management team. The position will report to the Program Design Manager or his designee. This position requires the individual to be based at the airport with the program management team. The position will be as part of a joint venture team and the selected candidate will be hired by one of the JV partners. Architect - Position Responsibilities: Assigned work elements will focus primarily on the field of Architecture with a focus on facilities design, design management and analysis including: oSupport project managers with technical needs regarding architectural project elements oProvide recommendations for the technical direction of the program oPre-design support including preparation of Project Definition Documents oParticipate in design review process as needed for all program elements oVerify projects comply with program and code requirements oSupport the writing of RFQ, RFP and TOSR documents with an architectural project focus oComplete site visits to evaluate and assess site architectural concerns and provide remediation recommendations oSupport creation and update of facilities standards and specifications oEvaluation of design alternatives oProvide miscellaneous technical support as required by the program oPrepare detailed engineering drawings and specifications for miscellaneous design assignments as directed by the client oDevelop engineering calculations, diagrams and technical reports oAssess potential program risks associated with materials, schedule, and costs. Job Requirements o4 or more years of progressive experience in design or program/design management of facilities architectural components required. oPrevious experience working on architectural elements of terminal/facilities design at airports is preferred oA bachelors or higher degree in architecture required. oRegistration as a licensed architect in Illinois is preferred oKnowledge and experience in design/management and/or construction of terminals and other airport facilities required oSpecific knowledge of major terminal structural systems and their functionality including integration with unique airport systems such as baggage handling systems, automated people movers, aircraft boarding bridges, etc. required. oPrevious experience with integration of new facilities with existing facilities a plus oMust have developed the following skills; general construction knowledge, leadership, oral and written communication skills, team work, decision making, judgment, and problem solving oExperience with large aviation capital programs from a program/design management, design, construction, and/or operational aspect preferred oAbility to utilize computer systems as a tool to effectively manage tasks #BIA #University At Jacobs, we help prepare people for new opportunities and challenges. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
