VMI Analyst I


The VMI Analyst is the primary analytical resource for the VMI group and as such their job duties will vary depending on the current needs of the team and/or Supply Chain.


The primary responsibility of the VMI Analyst is ensuring inventory efficiency and health in both retail and non-retail VMI sites. This includes determining which SKUs should be present in the VMI, what the inventory targets should be, maintaining a high level of service within the VMIs, and management / removal of dead stock. He or she is also responsible for communicating changes in inventory targets to internal and external stakeholders.


The VMI Analyst is also responsible for creating some general reporting and providing analytical expertise / project management skills for the group.


The VMI Analyst reports to the VMI Manager.



Position Responsibilities



50% - Ensures overall VMI inventory health by:


  • Working with Supply Chain, Sales, and the Channel to create effective SKU matrices for new and expanding sites
  • Maintaining effective inventory targets to ensure that VMI achieves a 97% out of warehouse service goal with the minimum level of inventory
  • Administering SKU addition and removal program
  • Creating and executing an effective dead stock removal program to ensure JH carrying costs are minimized
  • Communicating changes in inventory targets and dead stock removal to sites and JH sales in a consistent and effective manner
  • Finding inventory maintenance cost reductions by partnering with other groups

50% - Provides Reporting and Project Management support to the VMI team by:


  • Creating reports, collecting information, and performing analysis to allow the VMI team to make better strategic decisions
  • Scoping and leading initiatives to improve VMI and the overall supply chain
  • Preparing and presenting analysis and project results to internal and external stakeholders in an effective manner
  • Assisting with launches and closures of VMI sites.
  • Identifying opportunities to run a more efficient Supply Chain

Scope of Position
The VMI Analyst spends most of their time managing inventory targets, dead stock, and SKU additions and removals at VMI locations.

The VMI Analyst is also the primary analytical resource within the VMI group and is responsible for presenting their findings to a wider audience inside and outside the company.


Position Requirements


  • Bachelor's Degree required (Supply Chain / Engineering preferred)
  • Two to three years' experience in analytical and / or Supply Chain oriented roles
  • Experience with data analysis software (SAP, TM1, Business Objects) preferred
  • Strong analytical and gap focused thinking
  • Demonstrated ability to work with large sets of data efficiently
  • Demonstrated understanding of core inventory target concepts
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Superior interpersonal and oral/written communication skills with the ability to relate well and cooperate with others to effectively coordinate activities and accomplish goals
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple varied tasks simultaneously in a timely manner
  • Ability to identify strategic opportunities and suggestions for areas of potential improvement
  • Ability to leverage network to seek information and move initiatives forward
  • Demonstrated advanced skills with the standard features of various personal computer word processing and spreadsheet software (Microsoft Word and Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, and other proprietary software)
  • Willingness and ability to travel if needed for training or functional support, typically less than 10%.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
